In so many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic underscored and intensified the importance of priorities IDSA had identified before 2020 -- such as facilitating the growth and development of the ID workforce, championing fair compensation for ID physicians, driving progress on antimicrobial resistance and developing ID guidance and guidelines to improve the outcomes of clinical care. As we enter a new phase of the pandemic and the public health emergency has come to a close, we believe this is a unique time to seize the moment and use the past four years as the catalyst to tell our profession’s great story and significantly move the needle on these and other priorities.
