In an effort to further educate medical students and residents about the field of Infectious Diseases, IDSA's Foundation will provide $500 grants to support new and existing ID interest group events at medical schools. The purpose of the program is to increase student interest in ID. Events can be talks or journal clubs on topics related to ID, movie screenings, workshops and ID cases, or networking events.
An award of up to $500 is provided for one semester. Awardees may apply for subsequent years of funding on a competitive basis. Funding cannot be used for salary or institutional overhead.
For event ideas, check out the resources section below or see how the Emory University School of Medicine Interest Group uses its funding to expand educational opportunities.
