IDSA Board of Directors Advocates for ID on Capitol Hill
IDSA’s Director of Science & Research Policy Jaclyn Levy and IDSA Board Member Ann MacIntyre, DO, MHS on Capitol Hill
Prior to its March meeting, several members of the IDSA Board of Directors met with 40 congressional offices to advocate for the society’s legislative priorities, including improved reimbursement for ID physicians, incentives to promote antibiotic research and development, antimicrobial stewardship requirements, and increased federal funding for ID research and public health activities in the US and globally.
Board members met with congressional representatives from their respective states to help federal policymakers understand the impact of federal policies and investments on their communities. This advocacy is essential for advancing IDSA priorities.
