Learn to Become an Advocate for ID & HIV
IDSA, HIVMA, and PIDS will host a webinar on Wednesday, April 24 at 2 pm, ET to introduce you to the 116thCongress and discuss how you can easily and effectively advocate for federal ID and HIV policies throughout 2019.
In this webinar, you will learn who the new members of Congress are, hear about IDSA’s and HIVMA’s policy and advocacy priorities, and learn about opportunities to make your voice heard by joining advocacy efforts at home or in Washington DC. You will also hear testimonials from our members with significant advocacy experience.
Last year, members held a record number of meetings with their Congressional representatives, many of which occurred in local offices during the summer recesses. Their advocacy made a difference, resulting in increased funding for ID research and public health programs, new federal legislation to address the ID impacts of the opioid epidemic, and new congressional engagement with CMS to protect ID physician reimbursement. Your voice can make a difference, too.
