Share Your Comments on USPSTF PrEP Recommendation

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), the independent panel of health experts that makes evidence-based recommendations on clinical preventive services, issued a draft recommendation for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention, giving it an “A” grade. Notably, under the Affordable Care Act, preventive services given a grade of “A” or “B” by the USPSTF must be covered without cost sharing, so we believe that this recommendation could significantly improve access to PrEP, particularly for those with health insurance coverage.
