IDSA Leads AMR Funding Advocacy on Capitol Hill

The IDSA-led Stakeholder Forum on Antimicrobial Resistance (S-FAR) recently held its annual Hill Day to urge Congress to increase funding for activities to address AMR in the U.S. and globally. S-FAR consists of over 120 organizations representing health care providers, patients, agriculture, industry, public health, and health systems.

Over 40 representatives from these organizations held meetings with 50 Congressional offices emphasizing the need for continued focus and increased funding for federal One Health AMR efforts, including stewardship, surveillance, research and innovation. Our priorities include increases for AMR programs and activities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Initiative (BARDA), and the United States Agency for International Development.
