Want to Become an Advocate for ID and HIV? Join the Advocacy Liaisons
IDSA and HIVMA are excited to open a call for volunteers for the newly created Advocacy Liaisons, a select group of member advocates charged with engaging more IDSA and HIVMA members in the regulatory and legislative process with the support of IDSA and HIVMA staff.
2020 will be a pilot year for the program, followed by an official kickoff at IDWeek 2020. The term for the first group of liaisons will conclude at IDWeek 2022.
Advocacy Liaisons will participate and encourage their colleagues to participate in a range of advocacy activities including online action alerts, meetings with congressional offices and hosting policymakers at their institutions or clinics. They will also assist with promoting advocacy activities at IDWeek, all with the goal of improving ID/HIV patient care, research and public health through federal policymaking.
Applications are being accepted through Feb. 17. Please complete the volunteer application if you are interested in advocacy and would like to volunteer. If you have any questions, please email the IDSA advocacy staff.
