Alzheimer’s Research Funding Opportunity through the IDSA Foundation
The IDSA Foundation is excited to announce the availability of grant funding for investigators interested in research explicitly directed toward whether an infectious agent or microbial mechanism is responsible for triggering or driving Alzheimer’s disease. These awards will provide seed funding to encourage innovative projects that will lead investigators to initiate promising new directions in Alzheimer’s-related research that may enable them to compete successfully for national research grants. Targeted projects may rest in basic, translational, epidemiologic or clinical research that seeks to answer fundamental questions about whether an infectious factor or process leads to the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease.
This is a 12-month award with funding not to exceed $50,000. It is anticipated that up to two grants will be awarded in 2018.
The request for applications for this funding opportunity will be available shortly. Please contact foundation@idsociety.org for more information.
Funding is supported by a grant from Alzheimer’s Germ Quest, Inc.
