IDSA was invited to deliver statements to officials from the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of State ahead of the World Health Assembly, May 20 – 28 in Geneva, Switzerland. Members of the U.S. government delegation to the World Health Assembly heard from nongovernmental experts and stakeholders on their recommendations for U.S. government engagement on the strategic priority matters that will be addressed by the Health Assembly in Geneva.

IDSA’s Amanda Jezek spoke on the following agenda items: public health emergencies preparedness and response, health and climate change, and follow up from United Nations High Level Meetings on antimicrobial resistance and tuberculosis. IDSA statements can be found here. Staff will represent IDSA at the World Health Assembly and deliver similar statements as non-state actors.
