Science Speaks Follows Ebola Research, Developments
The IDSA/HIVMA Science Speaks blog continued coverage of the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and findings from the 2013-2016 West Africa crisis, with:
- a report on a retrospective study showing that the administration of intravenous fluids, in itself, did not improve Ebola patients’ 28-day survival rates;
- news of changes to the vaccination strategy in the Democratic Republic of Congo;
- and a roundup of articles discussing the challenges to efforts to contain the ongoing outbreak, including this opinion piece by IDSA Global Health Committee member Krutika Kuppalli, MD.
Science Speaks past Ebola coverage is here. For more on Ebola and the current outbreak see IDSA’s Ebola resource page.
