IDSA continues to inform the federal government response to COVID-19 and advocate for emergency supplemental federal funding and improved federal policies to ensure that public health and health care systems have what they need to prevent, detect and treat infections.

The Struggling Infectious Diseases Fellow: Remediation Challenges and Opportunities, an article published Feb. 18 in OFID, is a collaborative effort between IDSA’s ID Training Program Directors’ Committee and many other program directors, based on small-group discussions during the 2018 National ID Program Directors’ Meeting at IDWeek. 

The Guideline Recommended Treatment of Clostridioides difficile Infection (CDI) clinical quality measure is now available for use by health care organizations and clinicians as a tool to ensure they are following guideline recommended treatment for patients with CDI.

The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded more than $117 million in funding to health centers and Ryan White programs in targeted U.S. cities, counties and states for expanded HIV testing, treatment, prevention and care services during the first year of the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative, which seeks to bring a 90% reduction in HIV incidence by 2030.
